SUMMARY:Equality Impact Assessment Training (Online via teams)
DESCRIPTION:All UK Fire and Rescue services are required to produce detailed Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs) for their individual policies\, projects and activities. \nThere are three clear reasons for producing robust and comprehensive assessments in your service: \n1:  EqIAs form part of HMICFRS service inspection criteria. \n2:  Assessing the impact of your activities (from equality and people perspectives) form part of the service’s statutory obligations under The Public Sector Equality Duty. \n3:  As the profiles\, expectations and ways of doing things continue to evolve\, EqIAs are the right thing to do to ensure all internal and external approaches are up to date\, reflective of modern times and fit for purpose in 2024. \nThe NFCC is offering all services the opportunity to attend a one day (split into 2 half days) virtual training course designed to impart the necessary knowledge\, skills and confidence required to complete an EqIA.   \nEvent Structure: \nDelegates attend two half day virtual events with part one exploring the theory and background to EqIAs and part two focusing on practical EqIA completion. \nBetween modules\, (normally a 1-2 week interval) delegates are given a real NFFC / service related policy and are tasked\, in smaller syndicate groups\, with undertaking a practise EqIA on that policy. \nDuring the part two events\, delegates share their findings\, receive feedback and explore a model EqIA (completed by the NFCC) on the same policy. \nBooking Info: \nThe cost is £145 plus VAT per person for the full course.  The course is split into 2 half day sessions.  You must complete both parts to have completed the training. Please only book part two if you are booking part 1. We have applied the fee to part 1 of the training so part 2 will not require any further payment.  Please select the dates that suit you for each part but we would recommend a 1-2 week interval between courses. \nImportant: Please note the following booking conditions. \n\nIt is only viable for us to run a course with 6 or more attendees.  In the event your course date has less than 6 people booked on we will ask you to move to another available date.\nAs we move into Autumn\, courses are becoming fully booked.  If you need to move your course date\, we will accommodate where possible but can not guarantee your preferred new date.  We will need a minimum of two weeks notice to move your booked date (to allow others to book on) or a charge for that date will be made.\nNo shows on the day will be charged for the full course plus the cost of attending another course.

SUMMARY:Dignity at Work Training (Online via Teams)
DESCRIPTION:Promoting Dignity\, Fairness and Respect at Work: \n As the profile and social expectations of people working within all UK FRS services continues to change\, our daily interactions with colleagues – both as peers and leaders is required to evolve also. \nIn 2024\, promoting Dignity\, Fairness and Respect at work has probably never been a more relevant consideration for services – with a number of high profile incidents and a recent national assessment of our sector indicating that we may well have more work to do in this area. \nThe course also explores the skills\, language and techniques required to intervene at both a peer and leader level when it is recognised that this is not being completely achieved. \nThe event is open for individuals to attend with colleagues from other services or it can be reserved by dedicated functional teams / watches from within a service. \nThe NFCC is offering all services the opportunity to attend a one day (split into 2 half days) virtual training course designed to impart the necessary knowledge\, skills and confidence required to effectively promote Dignity\, Fairness and Respect at Work. \nEvent Structure: \nDelegates attend two half day virtual events with an interval of approximately two weeks between events. \nThe training will explore areas such as workplace behaviour\, language and actions\, how and why some of our younger generation of employees have very different expectations of colleagues and service leaders in this area\, interactive case examples\, outcomes and resolutions and more.
